Chris Godwin gets new three year deal with the Bucs https://www.abucsthing.com/2022/03/16/chris-godwin-gets-new-three-year-deal-with-the-bucs/ Thu, 17 Mar 2022 01:00:27 +0000 https://www.abucsthing.com/?p=371 The Bucs and Wide Receiver Chris Godwin reached an agreement on a three year deal, worth $60 million dollars, with $40 million guaranteed. With some cap wizardry (adding void years), the hit for this season is only $5 million.

The narrative that this is an “overpay” for an “injury prone” player is completely false and ridiculous. The injury that Chris is currently recovering from was the result of the Saints (known for and coached by one of the masterminds behind the disgusting Bountygate scheme) intentionally targeting him and other players like Tom Brady and Gronk. This was done in retaliation for the unintentional injury to Jameis in the first Saints game, it was celebrated by several Saints players when it happened. As well as the worst of the Saints fanbase on Twitter, who called it “karma.”

That injury helped to derail the Bucs’ season in the playoffs, leaving them with fewer offensive weapons against the Rams.

All Bucs fans should be thrilled that Chris is back, he should be a Buccaneer for life along with Mike Evans.

Fuck the Saints.
